Utility Trenching

Utility Trenching in Bentonville

Running a new water, sewer, gas, electric, or drainage line means opening the ground safely and backfilling it so nothing settles later. Aquaaid-international trenches for utilities with proper pipe bedding and compacted backfill, and we start every run with an 811 locate so existing lines are marked before we dig. Trench work is the highest-risk part of excavation, and we treat it that way.

Why Safe Trenching Matters

An unprotected trench wall can fail without warning, which is why OSHA sets hard rules at depth. Following them near Main Street or on a rural lot past Pea Ridge is not optional for us. It is how the crew goes home and how the line gets installed right.

Our Process

After the 811 locate, we open the trench to the depth and slope the utility needs. Any cut 5 feet deep or greater gets a protective system, whether sloping, benching, or a trench box, under OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart P, with a competent person inspecting before entry. We bed the pipe, backfill in lifts, and compact to grade so the surface stays level.
